Transcend Level 2 Award in Urban Beats

The Transcend Level 2 Award in Urban Beats [Music] sits within a pioneering and progressive suite of qualifications, which is exclusively designed to develop the learner’s music performance and production skills in an urban context.  This suite sits in sector 9.1 Performing Arts.

The qualification aim is it empower learners to compose and produce urban music in a selected genre. The objective is to provide a benefit to learners supporting an education pathway in urban music performance and production. Learners will:

• be able to analyse the definition and purpose of music historically and in the 21-century urban context
• be able to analyse the meaning of music in society historically and in the 21-century urban context
• be able to analyse urban music genres, produce an original composition and coordinate a production
• be able to analyse the impact of an original urban music composition and production on social movement.

The qualification delivery and assessment programme can be embedded into the national curriculum for music or offered as an innovative alternative.

This qualification is developed with industry influencers JT Consultancy: DJ Innovation with Rebekah and Jasmine Rose: Real Melodies as the technical collaborators. It was validated though industry consultation with Omnia Foundation a revolutionary independent school.

The qualification is widely available to any education provider that meets the Transcend Centre Recognition and Supplementary Qualification Conditions.
